I am on my 8th year H1b extension. My 1-140 was approved and I also applied for I-485 and got my receipt no on October 3, 3007 and EAD card with validity from 10/30/07-10/29/08. My H1B visa expired on Nov 23, 2007 but I didn’t receive notice till Nov 30, 2007. After I received my EAD I decide to work using my EAD but then decided to go ahead and renew my H1b for next 3 years but now there is a query that my employer needs to show that I was on valid immigrant visa between Nov 23 and Jan 22, 2008. I don’t know how my employer will be responding to this question. Can you please help me and tell me what documents I need to send to USCIS to prove that I was legal immigrant as an H1B for the above mentioned time period.
