Using EAD and being layoff; H1 still valid for 2010

Hi,

I am using my EAD to work for an organization. Due to mass outsourcing there could be a possibility of layoffs. I have my H1 extension till 2010.
In the event of job loss at present company, will I go out of status ?

Will I be able to work immediately on H1 with my h1 sponsoring company without any issue ?

EAD terminated your H1. You are not working on H1 anymore... your "status" is pending AOS. Not your H1 status.

so what happens when I am laid off while working on EAD. ?

Between my current job and next job, what's my status ?

and since i have my H1 validity till 2010, how can I avail it ?

Is it possible to switch to H1 from EAD ?
