Hi all
I submitted an I131 along with my I485 after my recent marriage to a US citizen. The receipt notice for my paperwork is June 3.
My husband is going to New Zealand to teach there in the fall at the end of August, and I need to go with him while my I485 is being processed. We'd like to book my flight along with his, but I'm concerned about the processing times for the I131 and not getting it approved in time for my flight.
If we book my flight now, does the financial loss of the plane ticket constitute enough of an emergency to ask for emergency AP at our local office if my I131 does not get processed in time? Or will they laugh in my face?
