Is the Visa expired date has any relationship with EAD

I just applied the EAD at the end of July and take my figureprint already . Now I am waiting for the news .

But I found my Visa is expired on Dec.1 2008 . But the date of my I94 is
Dec.1,2010 .

I have a L2 , my husband has a L1 .

I think my EAD application only has relationship with my I94 , not my visa date ?

Is that right ?

I *think* it's the Visa date

I applied last year and my expiration date was the same as my Visa expiration date, so I assume it's related to the visa. However, I'm in a J-2, so I have no clue if with a different Visa type thing work differently....
