Hi,
I got my new EAD ( valid for 2 years, thru Sept. 2010) recently. However the EAD have wrong A# number.
I would like to know can I use this EAD ( with incorrect A#) to accept a job (new) ?.
do I need to correct A# number? I am in H1B now, but if anytime have to change job, will this wrong A# in EAD will create any issue if I have to use EAD for new job?
fyi, I did EAD renewal by e-file. However after I submit application, I realized that by mistake i have entered my wife's A# in my application form.
Immediately I called USCIS 1-800-xxx-xxxx number, created a Service Request(SR) to make this A# correction?.
Also I enclosed a cover letter mentioning to correct A# while I sent supporting docs.
In the mean time I got Finger Printing (FP) Notice with wrong A#.
At the time of Finger Printing I mentioned about this A# issue and the SR. They verified my old EAD and corrected the A# in their PC. Also the immigration officer striked out wrong A# and hand written correct A# in my FP Notice form and told it has been corrected.
On 15th Sept, I received my new EAD with wrong A# ( all other information are correct). So I called USCIS again and found that the SR has been assigned to an officer on 12th sept where as my EAD got approved on 9th
Sept. So USCIS ppl now asking to file I-765 again to get A# corrected and saying most likely I have to pay again since it was an error on my part.
However I am wondering should I wait till SR is resolved? will they send a new EAD with correct A# once SR is resolved or should I take an appointment (infopass) to discuss with them.
What should I do now? Pl. suggest.
Thank you.
