  • Applying for EAD after getting Green Card

Hello, I would like to ask if anyone knows is it possible to apply for EAD after getting Green Card. I just received my Green Card, but I haven't apply for EAD when I applied my I-485 form.
I would like to get my SSN, but if I am correct You need to apply first for EAD and then You can get SSN.
If anyone have any suggestions I would really appreciate.

You can go to SSA office with your GC and apply for SSN. You should receive the SSN card in about a week.
Nov 2018 - Package sent - EB - Texas Service Center
Day 1 - Package received at the lockbox
Day 999 - Card delivered to me - Aug 2021

You cannot apply for an EAD as a permanent resident. Your permanent resident status qualifies you for an unrestricted Social Security card.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.
