E2 spousal visa holder here, I've filed an i-785 back at the beginning of July 2019. Online it says the status is:
On July 3, 2019, we received your Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, Receipt Number EAC1 YYYY YYYY , and sent you the receipt notice that describes how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your receipt notice by August 2, 2019, contact the USCIS Contact Center at www.uscis.gov/contactcenter. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.
Processing centre is Vermont.
Reading around it seems people have had a biometrics appointment/fingerprints taken. I've not done this - is this always necessary? Any advice for escalating? I've sent a message through the online USCIS portal today.
On the reciept letter I got, it says Biometrics Fee is $0.00, suggesting it wasn't needed...?
