EAD received with typos - Card sent back and now nothing?

Hi all,

My wife filed her EAD early September and after an initial request for information the card finally came through in early January.

However....the start date was unfortunately January 2021 not 2020 so we had to send the card back with a letter and additional photos. She has received her SSN though oddly!

Since then we have received confirmation of the incorrect card but the case status is now "We reopened your form and are now reconsidering our earlier decision".

Bear in mind the error was by the USCIS this is incredibly frustrating - any one have any advice? We came so close but yet so far.

Just as an update there is still no news on this - getting to the point now where we accept its been lost in the system.

It probably has not been lost in the system - they are just taking a while to get to it. A little faith and patience are all you need! Have you called them?

We have called every 2 weeks - with the same response that they can only see what we see online.

Ever hopeful that it turns up soon!
