  • Experience with EAD ?!

    Hey all!
I would like to receive some information, as I currently go through some kind of crisis filing my paperwork for GC.
I was previously a GC holder until 2016-17 that I moved back to Europe.

Now, I want to move back to the US and start filing the required forms for adjustment of status and work permit. I am over 21, unmarried, and will be sponsored by family (stepdad & mom) who are US citizens.
I wanted to ask if you know, by experience, approximately how long does it take for my case to be approved and at least receive my work permit???
I know the GC would take long time, but how about the EAD and legal status (I-765)?
I am stressed out as I see other people being approved after 2-3 months but only under marriage status.

    Thank you in advance!

    Hi,
    Please see my response below.

Answer: Please file I-130 petition. Once it is approved then you can file for I-485 and I-765. Once I-130 is approved, you need to wait for Priority date to file next petition. Therefore, it will take surely some months to complete the process.

I know the GC would take long time, but how about the EAD and legal status (I-765)?
Answer: Once I-130 is approved and your priority date is come current then you can file i-485 and I-765 together. Normally, EAD will be adjudicated less than one year.

    Thanks
