  • Can I resign without risk after receiving AOS approval notice, before PR card sent

I am on L-1 A and have I-140 and I-485 for E B 1 approved. I-485 got approved on 20th march (in 4 months). I-485 has not yet pending for more than 180 days, as I got AOS approval in 4 months.

I got the following update on website:

On March 20, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later.

I have already received I-485 approval notice document in my mailbox.

My PR card has not yet gone for production. My employer does not know about AOS approva.
My employer may lay me off. Is it safe now to resign and join another employer. Can my current employer create any issues in GC/PR card production now if i resign?

You're probably "home free," and the GC will show up soon.

Barring a change of mind by USCIS, unlikely to happen, you should be free to seek employment elsewhere.
