  • E34 (spouse of EB3) Visa Issued and retrogression

I was issued an E34 immigrant visa (EB 3 derivative visa) by last week of March. The PD for this case is July 31, 2007. Coming May 2015, the PD draws back to July 1, 2007 as a Major Retrogression for the Philippines EB3 Category.

1.) I am wondering if how will it affect my case knowing that I have already issued a visa?

2.) Will there be problem if I leave on the 3rd or 4th week of June 2015, with the PD being retrogressed?

I was interviewed at Embassy on March 16 but had one document pending (Visascreen) so consul said once I can produce visascreen my visa will be released. They kept my passport but now we are going into Retrogression on May 1st. I read that if visa is not issued by May 1st I will have to wait until my PD becomes current again (PD - May 2008). I've heard that as long as my passport is in the possession of the US Embassy my visa is "reserved" and I am safe, but I want to be sure. Visascreen should be ready by end of April to early May. Any assistance to alleviate my stress is highly appreciated. Even if it's bad news.....thanks in advance!
