Green Card Options
Hello,
My Employer was in process for filing for PERM application. Recruitment phase was completed. Next step, per my understanding was result submission followed by PERM application. We recently had a layoff but fortunately i was NOT affected by this. My colleague who was is similar field was affected by this. My Corprate HR mentioned that they cannot proceed with PERM application since they had layoff and will attempt again in few months
Today is August 12th 2016, My six years H1-B Visa expires on October 2017.
It is my understanding that PERM needs to be in filing process 365 days before my VISA expiry date. And After Layoff, employer must wait Six month before filing for green card.
Per Math, i will miss the deadline. What are my options and what are your comment, concerns ?
