Hello,
I am currently on a F-2 visa and I am starting the process of Employer Sponsored Permanent Residence via PERM next week.
I recently saw in the news about an "Executive Order on Public Benefits and Green cards".
The timing was bad because I appliced on healthcare.gov (Obamacare) for me and my 2 kids just about a month ago. My application was approved mid-September. My children were approved for Medicaid also. We didn't use it though (no doctor visits etc.)
These news were very alarming to me. I asked my immigration lawyer about this. He advised me to cancel Obamacare/Medicaid for the whole family asap, if possible retroactively since the application date last month since this is a federal-level benefit.
So what do you think about this?
