  • NVC not booking my interview

So I am on an I5 regional center visa and I have been trying to get into contact with the NVC on when should I expect and interview date after my documents were approved on Feb 1. When I was finally able to call them, they told me the program hasn't been reauthorized yet, even though it has been on the 15th ? I was told to call the USCIS and ask them why they haven't reauthorized them yet. Does anyone have any idea what's going on ?

My guess is that here: https://travel.state.gov/content/tra...arch-2019.html there is a legend that say:
The final action dates for the I5 and R5 categories have been listed as ?Unavailable? for March. If there is legislative action extending them for FY-2019, the final action dates would immediately become ?Current? for March for all countries except China-mainland born I5 and R5 which would be subject to a September 8, 2014 final action date and Vietnam, which would be subject to a July 15, 2016 final action date.
But the information here: https://www.uscis.govhttps://www.imm...sas-march-2019 there is nothing.

I think USCIS have their rules or instructions and the may not follow what DOS wrote on the visa bulletin.

The good news is that April visa bulletin will show C for I5 and R5 for all countries except China and Vietnam.

The other possibility is that they are giving wrong information and your case is on queue already (since Feb 15th) and it takes time to set an interview.

    Anyway, you are almost there!

Thank you so much for your continuous help. It's just that we're kind of in a hurry because my youngest brother is applying for college and we're worried he'll miss the deadlines. Do you think I should just wait for 3 months (until May) than try and contact them ?

I think you can contact them in April, your final action date will be current, on both visa bulletins, then.
