Leaving to India w/o I-485 receipt. Can it be mailed to India?

Hi,
I'm leaving to India for a month immediately after applying I485.
For instance I'm filing 485 on July 1st and leaving to India on July 22nd.Hope I'll receive the receipt by that time as I heard that it takes 2 weeks to get a receipt.

Just in case if i didn't receive my 485 receipt by that time, will I still travel without it?

And in the meantime my husband will mail me the 485 receipt to India so that i can use it on my return to US.

Is this possible? Please advice.

you dont need the receipt to return, if you have a valid H visa so done get it mailed, what if it gets lost

not the original just the copy of receipt...

If you want to but what you need to reenter is either a valid H or L visa or advanced parole. I-485 receipt will not do anything by itself. so go ahead have it sent if you want but not needed.
