Green card misfiling in a different category

What if an employer(attorney) files the green card for the employee in a category which the employee doesn't belong to rather was supposed to be filed in a different category based on the employee's background ..Does the green card gets revoked in this case and does the employee need to get it filed again after waiting for five years just to know that the attorney made a mistake misfiling in a category which the employee was not aware of ,at that point in time??

Please help..Your help will greatly appreciated..
