  • GC filing immediately after H1 start??

    Information from this forum is a blessing in disguise.

    Question:
    =======
    I have MS from US and am currently working on OPT. My H1 has been approved and starts on Oct 1 2009. Based on the current long wait, I'm thinking of getting the GC process started ASAP but my company is suggesting to wait until Oct 2010 and thinks that starting GC immediately after H1 start would create a negative impression at USCIS. Is this true?? What is the suggested gap period between H1 start and GC filing?

    Thanks a ton!!

    GC is for future employment and as long as you meet the experience needs for the job, it can be applied anytime provided they do not have a USC or a GC person that qualifies for the job available or aply for it when they advertise it.

    I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.
