  • GC Processing with another employer

    Hi,
I am currently working as a full time employee on H1. I will be completing my 6th year in Jun 2011. My company has not given me any assurance about the processing of my Green card. Can I get my GC process initiated through another firm for future employment as I continue to work with my current company and then shift to the other company when I find a job with them. I heard that this provision has been removed recently by USCIS. Please let me know if this is true. Your responses will help me in taking the future course of action. Thanks in advance.

GC is for future employment. Any employer can file for your GC and you need not be working for them. During I140 processing, ability to pay issues are easily resolved if you are getting paid the salary from them.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.
