Dear Sirs,

I'm a Portuguese freelance translator and I would like to immigrate to the United States. Since 2006, I have applied without success for a greencard. My question is, if I were hired by an American publisher to translate a book, could I obtain a work visa and live in the U.S.?

Green Card for US Army

I am a Canadian Citizen looking to join the US Army. I was told by the recruiter, last time I was in the US, that I needed to obtain a visa then a Green Card in order to apply to the military. Can anyone claify what kind of visa to first get and then if there is a way for a Canadian to get a visa or GC faster because the US and Canada are so close. Please let me know if you can, thanks.
