Approved labor and now have questions

Hello all, I recently got my labor approved and will now move on to the next step. My emplyoyer will soon be filing form 140 with USCIS, but my H1-B expires in October. Would I need an H1-B extension? What is my status if my H1-B is not approved but my I140 gets approved. Hope someone can throw some light. Thanks a bunch. Does anyone know when would dates become current for India so that my employer can file for my I485?

Specify when your 6 years in the US on H1 get over, what date your labor certification was filed.

Labor was filed last year. Just got an approval. Will complete 6 years on H1B this year. When would priority date become current for India? Thank you.
