Canada PR as backup

Hello,

I am in the US on L1A visa till valid till 2022. My EB1 i140 is approved with priority date as Feb 2018.

Since GC process is moving very slowly I would like to know if it helps to process Canada PR as a backup. Can you please let me know if this is a meaningful option. I would also like to know if processing Canada PR will have any negative impact on US GC process.

I'm not EB1 but my manager is EB1 from India. I believe he got his GC within 3 years after moving here on L1 (all-in time)
