  • Outside USA Post GC Application

    Hello,

My GC was applied last year, and my L1A is due for renewal this year.

    1) If my L1A renewal is rejected, will my GC application still be valid if I continue to work from outside of USA for the same company?
    2) Even if my L1A is renewed, will my GC application still be valid if I continue to work from outside of USA for the same company

    Thanks
    Niraj

GC is for a future job. L1 does not have an impact on GC application.
However, the "future job" must be offered to you at the time of filing I-485. The company makes this intent by providing you typically with an offer letter which you can submit to the USCIS along with the I-485 package.
Opinion only. Cannot be construed as legal advice.

For both of those, yes, as long as the company continues to offer to employ you once you immigrate.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.

Thank you R78 and newacct for the answers. That gives a relief to know.
Reconfirming on this, I can still continue working for the same company outside of USA
        - and there is no dependency on 140 approval before I do so?
        - and my GC application stays valid unless I quit the company?
