  • Company name change

My GC was initiated in 2013 in EB2 while I was working for company A in the US. In 2018, I moved back to India to the same company's India office. The india office is a separate entity company B. Couple of years ago, company C bought company A. So company A is now renamed Company C. Except some top level executive employees, nothing has changed within the company.
I have an approved i-140 sponsored by company A with a priority date in 2013. Now company C is interested to bring me back to US.

In this case, does the green card process have to start from scratch with a new perm while retaining the priority date?

If you have decided to change your business name so you know should how to check if the company name is taken and verification that name is already in use you will go for change. When you change your business name, you may need to change authoritative records, including agreements, advances, and your business financial records (and checks). You may need to change neighborhood permits to operate and allows and you will likely need another "working together as" or business trademark warning with your area. Most states charge a recording expense to handle the desk work related to your business name change. While the charge can fluctuate by state, it regularly costs somewhere in the range of $20 and $150. Change your name with the Internal Revenue Service.
