  • L1B and PERM

    Hi all,
I came to US last year and my employer is willing to file PERM. I am currently on L1B. This gives my spouse freedom to enjoy the EAD on L2.

Now if i file PERM on L1B, and later on covert L1B to H1B due to more flexibility in terms of extension. WIll this probably cause any issues with the PERM/GC processing.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

No problem. When you change to H1, your spouse will have to change to H4 and then they cannot use EAD to work.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.

Do you mean to say, there isn't any problem with PERM/GC changing your status from L1B to H1B. i understood that EAD wont be available to my wife once i do that.

Thanks a lot. I appreciate your response.
