Green Card while on L2 Visa

Hi,

I am in US from last 5.5 years. Initially for 5 years i was on L1b visa. Then i changed status to L2 visa as my spouse has L1b. Now I have EAD based on L2 visa and working in US for a new employer(other then whom I was working on L1B) from last 2 months. My new employer is willing to file Green Card for me. My query is can I start Green card process even when I am on L2 visa and working on EAD. If yes what category i would fall in, I have total 7.5 years work exp and Bachelor Degree in IT.

If you have BS + 5 years of progressive experience before joining your current employer, you can apply in EB2 category provided your job requires EB2 qualifications.

In other words you mean i can file for green card even on L2 as long as I am working fo rthe employer on EAD?

L2 or EAD does not matter.
