My company has initiated GC process for me but I am unaware of the exact time when a priority date would be assigned to me.
1. Currently Dept of Labor has been contacted for wage determination in late Dec, 2011.
2. I have been told that once the wage determination is received, they will perform a test of the labor market, consisting of several required forms of recruitment, which lasts about 30 to 35 days.
3. There will then be a “quiet” period of 30 days during which time the company must review any resumes received for the position, to establish whether there are any willing, able and qualified US applicants for the position.
4. If there are none, they will draft the application and file it.
I am confused when will the priority date be assigned to me in the above 4 steps ? Or will it only be assigned after step 4 i.e., after filing ?
