Birth certificate notarized in native country for green card

Hi,

I am planning to apply for green card for my parents. They are in US with Visitor visa and now decide to live here. I will be applying for adjustment of status. One of my parent has mistake in birth certificate and we have notarized statement mentioning the correction. Is it fine if we have this notarized statement from native country ? Or we have to notarized here only ? The statement is in English language.
