  • Birth certificate based on passport

    Hi,

I know this service is available at the Indian Consulate. However, I'm unable to reach them over phone. Has someone been through this process? I want to get a birth certificate for my mom based on her passport. I just need to confirm the list of documents that I need to carry with me while applying in person?

    Thanks,

    Vidya

Yes, I have gone through the same phase

Yes, I have gone through the same phase. I got my father’s birth certificate issued. www.services2nri.com had helped me in it a lot. I dropped an email for the same. In return, I was asked to send the letter of hospital where he took birth. But I did not have that. So, a concerned person there advised me to send a request letter to the Registrar of Birth and Death in the state. Send the address proof with complete name in a stamped envelope. It provided me an option also. S2NRI was ready to make it issued on my behalf at nominal charges. Within 15 to 20 days, I got my father’s birth certificate.
