  • Father married an american before I was 18

I've been doing some reading, and I'd like to know if anyone has experience with this before.

My biological father and mother had me in Canada, then later on in life they divorced. At some point, before I was 18, my father met and married an American woman. They lived in Canada until he passed, and shortly after that, she returned to the US.

What I'm wondering is, would I be eligible for a family based green card?

Your American stepmother can petition you as an adult child (stepchild), but there will be a waiting period before your Priority Date makes you eligible for a visa.
