I have recently reconnected with my daughter who is in Liberia. I have been in the US since 2001. My daughter was born in 1999, did not have much of a relationship with her because her mother later got married and kept her away from me. Her grandfather as well have been in the US since 2001 and claimed to have adopted her while in Liberia. Last year I reconnected with my daughter and her mom and we have been discussing her immigration to the US before her 18th birthday or atleast should have the process started.
I called her grandfather and mother to get her birth certificate to send in the application but was informed that they have already sent in an application with her grandfather petitioning as an adopted parent.
If I submit my application form 130 for my daughter, what will be the consequence of having multiple petition on file with USCIS. Should I just wait until they receive a decision before proceeding?
Also I have submitted my N400 and currently waiting to complete that process. She is listed on my N400 as my child.
