  • I-130 filing overseas// Money order

    Dears,

I'm living outside USA, and my wife is a USC, and she needs to file I-130 petition for myself and our kids.. We finally filled the forms ourselves and the only remaining step is to attach a US checks or Money orders along with the forms.

The issue that we couldn't find Money orders in the country where we live. So, Is it possible to ask a friend who is already lives in USA to mail us money orders drawn from USPS for example?

If Yes; will it be a normal "money order" or "international Money order"?

USCIS guys are confusing us and we couldn't grab a clear answer from them.

    Please advise.

    Regards,

    Regards,
Well if your wife is filing petition for you then sending money order will be ok. If you guys are filing more then one person then money order is not a option because normally post offices don't issue money order more then $500.00.

Easy way will be that you ask your friend to send his OWN personal check to USICS and you can pay him cash. Because as long as the fee amount is correct the USCIS don't care who is sending the check for petition.

Other option is to ask your friend to send you a NORMAL cashier's check from any US bank for total fee amount. Good Luck...
