Hi All,
We are new to the forum and looking for some help.
My sister (USA citizen) did the green card sponsorship for our parents ( They already have a visit visa - 10 years validity). All done and we are now at stage of scheduling an interview ( Note : Initial interview date was given but we can to cancel , as parents were overseas)
However, next 2 years, we are finding it difficult for parents to stay in US for 6+ months (marriages in family and some other commitments etc etc ). We understand that once the interview is done and parents enter US within the "entry date" timeframes, they have to stay at least 6 months to retain the GC
Now the question is
a) With the current approval / documentation done , can we continue to delay the interview stage - I mean what is the maximum we can delay the interview to ? (Note : they still have to go for their medicals)
b) OR would you guys suggest that we get the GC sorted and then if they are not able to stay, we work on re-entry permits etc - how complex the process is for parents ?
Need some urgent guidance expert from seniors.
Cheers
