taxes and health insurance for retired parents with green cards

Hello,

Does anyone have any experience with bringing their parents as green card holders?

I would like to know if anyone has sorted out what kind of taxes or health insurance do they have to pay for if anything.

I intend to bring my parents just to help me babysit my child. They have their own pensions, total for both is under $2000 per month. They would be over 60 yo. And that's it. They won't want to work here, they won't want to make money here.

How much should they expect to pay taxes and how much would they be paying for the least expensive health insurance (if mandatory, I'm guessing it is)?

As a green card holder, they are expected to pay the income tax in the US on their worldwide income. You can try some online calculators or take a help of CPA.

So from what I read, once they become tax residents, we would have to keep in mind that they have to file for taxes every year even after they leave USA (since they are not going to stay here for more than 3 -4 years). And they must request somehow to be taken off from filing taxes, is this correct? Otherwise... not sure... is it bad if they don't file taxes once they are not here anymore?
