F1 category unmarried over 21 - PD May 2013

Hello,
my mom (US citizen) applied for me in May 2013 under F1 unmarried over 21 category. My i-130 is still pending at vermont service center (it's been almost 5 years). I understand even if i130 was approved I still have to wait for PD to be current. However, it is still nice to have a decision on the first step (i130) but vermont service center hasn't moved past September 3, 2012 for past 3 years. As my PD gets closer, will they work on these cases? It seems stuck at same date for past 3 years.

Also, in the event that the date for filing date gets current but i130 is still pending... can i apply for AOS i485 with i130 still pending or I must wait for i130 to be approved to apply? I am in US.

Anyone in similar shoes?

AOS can be filed when the PD becomes current, even if your I130 is still pending.
