My husband and I have a joint sponsor who hasn't filed 2017 taxes yet, but we cannot wait for them to get their tax return before we file (joint i-130 and i-485) in a few weeks. What do we do?? Will the USCIS reject our application if we put in 2016 taxes instead (and tell them we'll keep them updated for when our sponsor get their 2017 taxes done)?? Please leave some advice or knowledge as we're incredibly stressed over this.

Since it's before the deadline to file 2017 taxes, you can use 2016 as the most recent year. They may or may not give you an RFE for 2017 tax returns later.Originally posted by emiswarts View PostMy husband and I have a joint sponsor who hasn't filed 2017 taxes yet, but we cannot wait for them to get their tax return before we file (joint i-130 and i-485) in a few weeks.
