  • I-864 RFE - Do IRS Wage and Income transcripts qualify as supporting tax documents?

I received an RFE for my marriage based green card. I have elected to get a joint sponsor to satisfy the 125% poverty line requirement. My father-in-law will be acting as my joint sponsor.

I am preparing the form I-864 and have a question - In the RFE, it states that if I decide to obtain a joint sponsor, they will need to include :

"A copy of the joint sponsor's supporting tax documents (W-2s, 1099s, Form 2555, and tax schedules) that you filed with your federal income tax return"

Does the IRS Wage and Income transcript that he obtained online for me satisfy this requirement? This is a separate document from the IRS from his Income tax transcript, and it shows in detail a summary of all the forms he filed with his income tax. Or do I need to obtain copies of all his W-2's and tax schedules? ONE OTHER detail that might be relevant - he joint files his taxes with his wife. Are the original documents needed to show his income separate from hers?

    Thank you

In my I-864 RFE USCIS requested that my sponsor's wife sign too because her income needed to be combined with my sponsor's income to cover the 125%
