Employment auth renewal family based-marriage

Hi all,

This forum has always been of much help for me during this process and I am so thankful. I am the petitioner (US Citizen) for my husband (Category 9). We received his Employment Authorization card May 2018 and I am looking for information on how to request for renewal now before it expires. Does someone know which form must be filled and most importantly, do we have to pay for the application fee plus biometrics again? We are waiting for an interview, but I know USCIS is really backed up right now and I saw they are just now processing Dec 2016 485 application/interviews, so I am not expecting an interview apt before the EAD expires.

He files the same forms he filed to apply for the original EAD and/or AP -- i.e. I-765 for EAD and I-131 for AP. Both I-765 for EAD and I-131 for AP are free for I-485 applicants, and this is true for both the initial applications and any renewals, so I am not sure what you mean by paying a fee "again".

well we called and were informed once submitted the 765, we would have to pay the app fee plus biometrics again (to renew). The good news is, we received notice that our interview has been scheduled. God is good!!!!!

No, you do not have to pay any fee. The phone line often gives incorrect information.
