Birth date format incorrect - HELP

Hi:

I have come across a unique situation where my mom's birthdate which is actually 03/06/1940 (mm/dd/yyyy) format - has been incorrectly represented(06/03/1940 dd/mm/yyyy) all the way till the Packet 3 has been received.
I have just realized that my Mom's birthdate was recorded per the I-130 form which was filled up as 06/03/1940 instead of 03/06/1940.

Has anyone come across this kind of situation before? What are the options that I can exercise to get this corrected? I am going to call and talk to NVC tomorrow but thought if I can get an answer from some of the gurus here, that would be great!

Thanks everybody for looking.. I called the NVC and they were very co-operative about the issue. All I have to do is send a letter to the NVC explaining the situation alongwith a copy of my mother's birth certificate showing the correct birth date and they will then correct it in their records.

I understand it might delay the processing by a month or so but that isn't bad.
