My brother petitioned for my green card and died just before interview date

My brother had petitioned for my green card under 4th prefrence. He died a week before I got a letter for my INS interview. I have worked in this country and fulfilled by 40 credits of support.

Can I still go through with the process although by brother has died and the fact I am financially able to support myself?

If your brother passed away, your petition is void/cancelled.

Unless you have another sibling who is an US citizen, you are pretty much out of luck. You can not go on this interview and attempt to get the GC, that would be fraud and you would be in bigger problems.
