VERY IMPORTANT: Parents GC refused under 221(g) at mumbai consulate

Hello all:

My parents GC interview was refused under section 221(g) at mumbai consulate on Sep 16, 2008. They were basically asked to get additional documents. The 221(g) form is a pink colored form.

They have finally managed to produce the requested documents and will be submitting them to VFS tomorrow. Does anyone know how long will it take them to get the GC after they have submitted the documents to VFS in Mumbai ?

This is very urgent and important and so any feedback will be very much appreciated.

Parents got greencards

Hi:
I wanted to share my experience to the readers. As per the previous post, my parents were not given their green cards when they went for interview because of missing documents.

Well it took them 6 weeks to get the missing docs. Once they obtained it, they immidiately submitted it to VFS-Mumbai and thats it. They were asked to collect their passports + visa in the evening.

The passports were returned along with a sealed envelope which they have to carry with them to the United States.

I am glad this ordeal is over. Good luck to all who have been waiting for their loved ones to join them in USA.
