Can I file for momm's GC while she is on visitor extension visa?

Hi,
1)Can I file for my mom's GC while she is on her visitor's extension?

2)If the answer is yes, can she stay in U.S. until she gets the green card?

My father passed away and she doesn't want to go back and live alone..
Please respond asap as her visitor's extension expires in another 3-4 months and I need to file asap if I can.

Are you a US citizen? If Yes, then yes she can file for adjustment of status.

Thanks for the reply and yes..Iam a citizen .Would you know if she can stay
in U.S. until the GC gets approved.Should she wait for some kind of approval no. to stay back ?

Yes she can. As matter of fact, she cannot leave until she receives her GC.
