Congrats dsz! You mean to say you are in the US right now? Did you also receive an email reS 3032 aside from the snail mail ?

First my brother received (4-5 days ago )in USA. (my father is petitioner and we have given my bro's address) and now I received DS 3032 via snail mail. no email.

Green card and social security

Hi Neets,
It took about 28 days to get the green card in the mail
We did not get the Social security cards,so we went to the office and
applied in person. They just needed to see the passports and greencards.
It came in the mail a week later,one card at a time.So if u havent got the S.S cards yet,go to the S.S office and apply for it.

Ok thanks for the info twins me and my family receive our green card last weapply for our social at the social security off and my husband already receive his own.

Status change

Hi, all.

I'm not in the F3 category, but I have a question that some of you may be able to answer.

My mom is sponsoring my sister and her family (husband and children). The children are 13 and 7 yrs old, so they are currently just minors. But, we all know that it can take 10yrs and up before they are given visas.

So, my question is in 10 years the oldest child will be over the ***** 21yrs of age and won't be a minor anymore, does that mean that the child will have to be "responsored" as an unmarried adult child???? Or can the child keep the same status (minor child) as when the process originally started???

Hi newbie3,

The CSPA may apply to the child if he/she is over 21 yo at the time a visa becomes available depending on when the I-130 was approved and some other factors.

No one has to pay taxes for you! You may be confusing it with the I-864.

You are right, would you please tell me what sponsor do when he submit I-864. Whats the procedure. Does he pay any extra amount on our behalf.

I-864 is the financial responsibility the petitioner is taking for the beneficiary till they become citizens. It is a part of the package the petitioner has to submit.
