how i can obtain certified copies in india? plz help me

i need somebody's help here very badly. i been searching answer for this question about 3 days hrs surfing net. please somebody share his/her knowledge with me. i will b really appreciate that.
i don't understand what does means certified copies??
i looked at NVC website. i know it is not photo copies and then attested by notary public. i called NVC they told me. it should be signed and stamped by related authorties.
PLEASE can somebody tell me how can i get this in india [punjab]
i dont want send originals. i already sent my birth certificate to USCIS.
They didn't send to NVC .
i hope somebody will help me with this big problem.

Certified copy really means the "original" you have.

For Rs. 50 each, you can more "original"s from the same place where you got the initial one. Those are called certified copies.

Actual original record is in their register (paper one or computer one). Therefore, you never get original, but what they give you is certified copy.
