Hi,
I am currently working in US on OPT Extension (just started in July 2019) and I have a Full time Job. I married US Citizen this year and we are planning to file my marriage based Greencard.
I have a question regarding Form I-864 (Affidavit of Support):
My wife is my petitioner but she does not have a job currently. Hence her income would not meet the requirement of 125% of the current Federal Poverty Guideline. There is an option for us to use My income (intending Immigrant) to satisfy the 125% requirement.
However, there is a condition which says we would have to show that the income will continue from the same source even after immigration:
I want to understand what this condition actually means. Does this mean that I cannot change my full time Job or Employer after immigration ? or after immigration Can I not change my full-time job to Contract job or Start a new business ?
Moreover, What kind of proof is suffice to show that the income will continue from the same lawful source even after immigration ?
PS: My wife and me we live in the same residence.
Thanks in Advance for your valuable response \ guidance.
