  • Question on I485

My Wife and mother came to the us and applied for Political Asylum (I-589). They have not gotten an Interview they are still pending. When I am filling the I485 for both of them there is a question asking "What is your current Immigration status (if it has changed since your arrival)? should I just type in I-589 or refugee process?

Please help need to send this form before February 24th

If they entered the US legally, their status is what they were admitted under. If that status is expired, then write something like "B2 (expired)".

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.
