Husband is an Indian citizen living in UAE. He is currently in India on a visit and we thought it would be a good idea to get the PCC now. Is it too early? How long is PCC from India valid? Are we supposed to send the originals to NVC?

I have send my original PCC to NVC as it need two sets of document one in original and other in PHotocopy but make sure that u make photo copy of PCC some extra and make it true copy of it....... about the validity and other first things u wrote please consult some good expert regarding this or search in this forum there should some same cases

i guess u are from india.Even m from india.what is your PD?my PD is 21march 2010.my case is documentarily completed and m waiting for my interview.do u have any idea when will this retrogression end?will things change till october???

yes i am from India my PD is 01FEB2009. i dont know when it will end but i think it will jump long forward as it did. i am in F2A catagory and my wife is getting citizen in october so hopefully my catagory will change so counting on that... good luck keep in touch

Can I ask you a question? Did your siblings submit PCCs along with their DS230? If so, were they able to obtain the same from the passport office? I hear passport offices insist on interview letters. Did that happen in their case?

Yes After submitting I864 & DS230 we got a letter from NVC saying they need some more documents with a barcode sheet and stuff. We got the PCC based on that - then we sent it over to NVC. Now we have a letter from them saying our case is complete!
From what I understand, if you can prove (with any document) that your case is in line for an interview - they will give you the PCC.

Yes you are right. Many people are even in America who applied in 2009 and 2010 because they had their interviews scheduled before January 2011 in which retrogression took place. Anyways best of luck everybody!

My parents filed for my siblings in May 2010. We got the letter last month to submit I-864 and DS 230 with all the supporting documents! Letsee what happens now!

Got a letter yesterday saying the the case is completed and that they will let us know when the case is sent to mumbai embassy. I hope this moves fast! The case was filed in May 2010, All the paperwork was completed in Feb 2011. Now we are just waiting for the interview!

Can you give the link of the forum, because there are I guess alot of people on this forum who have applied in the start of 2009 but did not get interview letters yet.

Hello Laterbloomer - your priority date is Nov 1, 2010. I am surprised that USCIS asked you to submit I-864 so quickly. Visa availability date for the most recent month is June 2007.

I didn't know that USCIS is completing all the paperwork even though interview will take some time...
