  • Immigrant visa processing at US Embassy/Consulate during COVID

We have been waiting for a CR1 (spouse of US citizen) consular processing for quite a long time.

    1. In the mean time, the marriage is now more than 2 years old, so category changes from CR1 to IR1 (i.e., an unconditional green card should be issued). Is there anything the petitioner or beneficiary needs to do for this, r is this automatic?

    2. Is there some official State Department website that lists which countries/consulates are doing the Consular Processing during the current covid times?

    7/21/18 Filed I130 @ Chicago Lockbox
8/8/18 I797C (Notice of Action received)
    3/29/19 I130 approved
    5/15/19 NVC case/invoice email received.
5/19/19 Paid all fees, submitted AOS, Civil Documents and DS260
8/14/20 NVC marked the case complete, waiting for visa interview date.

Total wait: 26 months+ ... still waiting! Who knows when, due to covid

Bumping the thread.... have the US consulates in any country resumed CR1 processing? Any site that gives updates?
