URGENT - Medical appointment not available before immigrant visa interview

Hi everyone

I need advise with urgent situation. My brother finally received immigrant visa interview date however he only got 15 days time to arrange everything. When he called medical centre to book medical he found that no medical appointment available before his visa interview appointment. According to instructions he need to have medical completed atleast 10 days before visa interview appointment date.
He spoke to us embassy in London and found that its not possible to reschedule appointment. They advised to wait for interview appointment to lapse and then he would get option to schedule new appointment after 24 hrs. Not sure if this is good option as there is no such formal communication. He tried finding contact info such as email where someone can help him with rescheduling appointment however didn't get much info

Could you please suggest if its ok to miss appointment and it would be possible to book another appointment easily? OR there is other way to solve this problem. He tried convincing medical Centre but it seems lot of people having same issue as American embassy suddenly sent interviews after long covid delay.

I would ask him to try different states to get a medical appointment. Re-Scheduling is not something we can control. So they are right, they would just have to lapse the appointment and be at their mercy to reschedule one when slots reopen.

If looking at other states is not yielding a resolution, I would recommend to still making the appointment regardless and let them turn him back from the consulate. Once there, he can cry a river and tell how its messed up due to COVID and all. And see if they let you do the interview and potentially issue a 221g so that he can submit the documents via dropbox on the back end and approve a VISA later.

All of this is conjecture so try it out....the worst that can happen is a trip to the consulate...he is going to miss the interview anyway if don't go....

American Embassy told him to not attend interview and let it lapse. They told option to reschedule new date will be available after 2 days of original interview date. Is it wise to let interview slot? I don't want he is issued 221g for problem not even in our control.
