Hi I have got approval letter for my brother under I-131. But date will be current after 10 years. Does this waiting time changes if he comes to US legally on some other visa and apply I-485?

But to get another visa it will be difficult as immigration visa is already filed and approved.

I could not understand your reply. Could you please explain little further. There is no visa issued to him. Only 1-131 approved. His case is put in waiting line where current date is 2001. His date will be current when this que reaches to June 2008 (after almost 7-8 years from now).
So my question still stands: if he comes to US on another legal visa then can his waiting time change or no ?

First of all, the petition is I-130 and not I-131. Secondly the I-130 will not move faster nor the waiting time will decrease just because the person comes to USA on some other visa. Your brother is in line and will have to wait till his turns comes. Currently the waiting period is 9.5 years. If your brother applies for some other visa to come to US, he must disclose to the US Immigration or Consulate that there is a family based petition filed for him.
