Hello - I (naturalized citizen) am sponsoring my parents (currently living in Sri Lanka), and have filed the I-130 (Feb, 2022). As with everything, it is still being processed. The state of the country is pretty dire and my parents would like to come to the US as soon as possible(they both have valid B2 visas). I would of course bear all financial responsibilities while they are here.
- Is it prudent for them to visit, while the I-130 is pending? I would think CBP will have record of the filing, and will that cause issues upon arrival?
- If the I-130 gets approved while here, they are willing to go back to finish the process.
- If the I-130 is not approved after 90- days of being here, can an I-485 be filed here and the Green Card processed in the US?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
